During the event on September 10, Texas Roadhouse will present a check to Sgt. Damon’s family and John Gonsalves, founder of HFOT. The restaurant and the Twin States Harley-Davidson will also give away prizes and offer face painting for children as part of the celebration. Guests can help Texas Roadhouse and HFOT raise money to build additional houses by purchasing raffle tickets for a 2005 Road King Custom motorcycle, courtesy of Twin States Harley-Davidson, which will be given away on October 2. Tickets are available at the event for $50, and all proceeds will benefit HFOT. Founded on February 4, 2004, Homes for Our Troops is a Massachusetts-based non-profit organization building specially adapted homes for disabled veterans of war. The organization is strongly committed to assisting disabled and seriously injured veterans and their immediate families. Initially focusing on soldiers returning from the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts with serious injuries, HFOT will consider granting assistance to disabled veterans from any wars or foreign conflicts. Texas Roadhouse opened its doors in 1993. In just 11 years, the company has grown to approximately 170 locations in 33 states and has garnered a number of awards, including being named #1 steakhouse in America by Restaurants & Institutions magazine in 2003.
