BABY BOOMERS SUPPORT 'HOMES FOR OUR TROOPS'

Music-Making Lowrey Seniors Seek To Raise Funds In Nationwide Effort Helping Build, Alter Homes for Veterans With Life-altering Disabilities

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LAGRANGE PARK, IL October 19, 2006 For the first time in its three year history, the 2000 plus members of the music-making organization, L.I.F.E. (Lowrey Is Fun and Easy) will unite in a common cause raising funds to help returning American troops with serious disabilities and injuries attain adequate housing.  Supporting ‘Homes For Our Troops’ (www.homesforourtroops.org), a Massachusetts based charity that builds and adapts homes across the country for handicap accessibility for severely wounded veterans is a natural for L.I.F.E. members, many of whom are baby boomers and former veterans themselves.

Founded by Lowrey Organ Company (http://www.lowrey.com/) in 2003, L.I.F.E. was created to help music makers ‘find their voice’ as a nationwide group.  With over 50 Chapters and members representing almost every state, the group is the largest music organization in the country. Each Chapter will initiate a grass roots fund-raiser in their local community between October 20th and December 15th, 2006.  100% of the proceeds will be donated to Homes For Our Troops.  All Homes for Our Troops services are provided at no cost to the veterans they serve.

“L.I.F.E. members are baby boomers - they know what it’s like to serve their country”, says Satoshi Takada, president, Lowrey Organ Company.  “L.I.F.E. members and Lowrey Organ Company are only too happy to commit to this worthwhile effort.”

“Our motto is, essentially, ‘homes for our troops’, says John Gonsalves, president and founder, Homes For Our Troops. “It’s not a politically left thing, it’s not a right thing; it’s the right thing. As Americans, we have a responsibility to these soldiers and their families.  We’re thrilled to have the support of L.I.F.E. members and know their fund-raising efforts will make an important contribution toward helping a soldier return to a better way of life.’

Founded in 2004, Homes for Our Troops is currently working on more than a dozen projects across the country for returning severely disabled veterans. The organization has been recognized by President George W. Bush, Daughters of the American Revolution and the PGA Tour for its dedicated efforts to servicemen and women.
