James Fair, the Army veteran who lost his sight and both hands in Iraq, has the foundation for a new home in Ross. Beginning today, he'll need an army of volunteers to build that new house.

Homes for Our Troops, a Massachusetts-based nonprofit organization, is seeking unskilled volunteers and skilled framers, roofers and siding installers to build a house in three days at 112 Osterle Lane. The "build brigade" will begin at 8 a.m. today, tomorrow and Saturday.

Since the Coraopolis man appeared at the Pittsburgh Home & Garden Show in the spring, Homes for Our Troops and Duquesne Light Co. have raised more than $250,000 in cash and services to build a house adapted for Mr. Fair.
