Veteran Injured In Bomb Blast Gets New Home
Homes For Our Troops is a organization that provides specially adapted homes for severely injured service members.
U.S. Marine Evan Morgan was on his second tour of duty in Iraq when a Humvee he was riding in was struck by a roadside bomb.
The 23-year-old lost both legs and the sight in his right eye in the explosion.
Despite spending more than 15 months in hospitals, Morgan treats life as a precious gift.
“You can't change the past,” Morgan said. “So you do what you can with what you've been handed."
Homes For Our Troops is strongly committed to helping those who have served their country and then returned home with serious injuries.
They raise donations for building materials and labor. Then they build a new home or adapt an existing home for handicapped accessibility.
The Morgan home will be built in the Southern Oaks area with the help of Dave Packer Custom Homes.
