Recent rains postpone home presentation Heavy rains have postponed the formal presentation of keys to a new home in Irvington to a former Marine who was severely injured in Iraq. The event, previously scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m., now is set for Sept. 13 at 1 p.m., a spokesman said Wednesday Recent rains inundated unpaved Southfield Road, the site of the home for former Sgt. Greg Edwards and his family, according to Larry Gill, a spokesman for the nonprofit organization Homes for Our Troops. Gill said there was also standing water in the home's yard. |
