Build a home for Christmas
Homes For Our Troops is a non-profit organization, with very good ratings, who helps our returning troops by building them new homes. If you have some professional skills, can swing a hammer or just want to come for support, please join other volunteers in doing something worthwhile for our men and women in service. During this holiday season when money is short, you can afford this one present. Just give some of your time doing a little labor. Bring a friend. Construction started today on a new home for TJ Johannsen, an Army soldier who lost both of his legs in a bomb explosion in Iraq in 2007. He spent two and a half years at Walter Reed Army Hospital recovering from his wounds. For the next two days, Homes For Our Troops will build him a home (weatherproof shell) in Elizabeth, Colorado.
