"Homes For Our Troops" gives Maryland soldier new house

(NECN/CNN: Mike Conneen, Frederick, Maryland) — Sergeant Adam Kisielewski was severely injured in Iraq, and now he has a wheel-chair accessible home in Frederick, Maryland, thanks to "Homes For Our Troops."

Patriot Guard riders escorted 27-year-old Kisielewski and his family to the unveiling of their new home.

After losing his left arm and right leg, and nearly his life, in a 2005 explosion in Fallujah, Iraq, Kisielewski returned home to a three-story house with narrow hallways forcing him to wear his prosthetic leg all day and making it more difficult on him to get around.

Now, he has a wheel-chair accessible home that features an open layout, wheel-chair friendly bathroom, push buttons on the doors, and cubbies for his prosthetic limbs.

The "Homes For Our Troops" charity calls it a labor of love with hundreds of volunteers and hundreds of thousands in donated supplies and furnishings.

The charity has built 100 homes for wounded warriors since 2004 and hopes to build 100 more.
