Phil Mickelson
Mickelson has been a huge supporter of Homes For Our Troops through Birdies for the Brave, a non-profit organization established by Mickelson and his wife, Amy to provide support for U.S. troops and their families. Each season, Mickelson donates $100 for each birdie and $500 for each eagle he makes on the PGA TOUR. Mickelson's efforts also raised substantial additional contributions as people across the country joined him in supporting our troops by hosting golf tournaments of their own and donating the proceeds to Homes For Our Troops.
"The men and women of our military make great sacrifices to keep America safe, and we want to make sure they are not forgotten," said John Gonsalves, President and Founder of Homes For Our Troops. "We are honored that Phil is supporting our mission. Through his efforts and the support of many other great Americans, we have been able to help severely injured veterans across the country move into homes adapted to meet the physical challenges they face every day as a result of life-altering injuries they suffered while serving our country."

Billy Joel
Billy Joel had been a supporter of Homes for Our Troops since 2004, but in 2007 the donation was substantially larger.
A $500,000 donation from the legendary singer, songwriter, composer and performer was generated by his song titled "Christmas in Fallujah." This song was made available in late 2007 exclusively for download on iTunes and was performed by Cass Dillon, and Billy donated all his proceeds to Homes for Our Troops.
"Billy has been a supporter of ours for years”, said John Gonsalves, HFOT’s president and founder upon receiving the donation. “This donation was more than we could have hoped for. Because of this generous donation, we will be able to take several service members off of our waiting list and get them into homes that will enable them to live more independent lives. I recently had a chance to meet Billy and he told me that he was compelled to write a song in reaction to the many letters he has received from service members overseas."
When asked what his thoughts were about our injured troops coming home, Billy said, "My fondest wish for the people who have been severely wounded is to find some degree normalcy as they go on with their lives. I am moved by their optimism and I admire their spirit and determination and hope they can retain that as they go through the rest of their lives.”
Billy continues to this day to generously support Homes for Our Troops.
