SSG John Bennett, Charlie Company, 163rd Mechanized Infantry Unit, Montana, USANG, was shot in the stomach by a sniper and left paralyzed from the waist down. John, his wife and their four children were living in a very small house that required that their children live in the basement, which sometimes leaks and becomes musty.

Work begins on home fit for a vet
CASCADE -- Construction officially began Monday on a new house for former Montana National Guard Staff Sgt. John Bennett.
