Army SSG Michael Minard, 26, of Grand Junction, Colo., was on his third tour in Iraq when tragedy struck.

"1 October we were out on a recon just a couple clicks north of Sadr City in Baghdad and on the way we got hit by a [roadside bomb]," he said. "It tore through our Stryker and stripped my legs apart."

SSG. Minard lost both of his legs in the explosion.

Michael, his wife Lynda, and their two children have a home that needs to be adapted to fit his needs.

Homes for Our Troops is proud to have presented this beautiful home to SSG Mike Minard and his family on December 21, 2009. A home that he can call his own and allow him to move freely. Thank you to everyone who supported this project!
