Sergeant First Class Ewell has proudly served in the military for 21 years. While Gordon was in Iraq he participated in 59 combat missions on these missions his vehicle was hit by IEDs on 6 seperate occassions. Gordon also co-authored the handbook on Route Clearence which is being used today to save the lives of our troops in Iraq.
Gordon, father of six, returned home in December of 2007 as a result of head trauma. One of the explosions that he endured was so powerful that it blew his impacted wisdom teeth out the side of his jaw. In addition to the loss of cartilage in his jaw, he also has broken vertebrae in his neck, a permanant loss of hearing, loss of peripheral vision, loss of balance, and he suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Homes for Our Troops is honored to work with Alta Vista Homes to build the Ewell family a specially adapted home. Please help us provide a home to this family of 8 that has given so much for our Country.
Another specially adapted home donated to another deserving American hero. Good luck to the Ewell family and thank you to all who supported this project!
