SSG Charles Isaacson was injured February 18, 2007. He was on his 8th tour overseas and only 5 days away from coming home when his helicopter crashed in Southern Afghanistan. Eight of the twenty two passengers did not survive the crash. Chuck suffered through 2 collapsed lungs, broken ribs, a broken leg, a broken neck, burst and compression fractures that left him a paraplegic from the chest down.
Since the helicopter crash Chuck has undergone 3 surgeries and several months of both inpatient and outpatient therapy. Chuck is still continuing therapy and has regained some movement. He and his wife Brenda are very hopeful that he will someday be able to stand and walk.
Homes for Our Troops is proud to have presented this beautiful home to Charles Isaacson on January 27, 2009. A home that he can call his own and that will allow him to move freely and become more independent!
