SSG Lee Tom Jones       Lumberton, NC

On October 3, 2005 SSG Lee Tom Jones was on patrol with the 82nd Airborne 504th PIR when the Humvee that he was riding in hit an IED.  The blast caused the Humvee to flip over and catch on fire.  Even though Lee was on fire when he ran out of the Humvee he was demanding to know the fate of the 3 men he was riding with, it was not good, none of the other men made it. Lee has sustained severe burns to over 45% of his body, 3 strokes, Traumatic Brain Injury, and has no feeling in his feet - which makes it difficult for him to walk. He is only able to go very short distances with a walking belt and assistance. Homes for Our Troops built the Jones family a specially adapted home so the Lee can enjoy the freedom he has fought so hard for.
