About SPC Jason Schulz

SPC Jason Schulz was returning from a vehicle recovery mission in November 2007 when the Salvage and Recovery Wrecker he was riding in struck an IED in Mosul, Iraq. The blast ripped through the door on the right side of the truck, hitting the location where SPC Schulz was seated, resulting in the loss of both of his legs.

Due to the long waiting list for handicap-accessible housing at Jason’s military base, he waited nine months for the opportunity to move into a home that met his needs. Upon his discharge from the Army later this year, Jason will be forced to once again begin a search for handicap-accessible housing.
