Support Our Efforts
We will be participating in this very special event. Please support us with a donation by selecting the "Support Robert" button. Our efforts will help make a big difference!
Our goal is to raise $100,000 for Homes For Our Troops to enable them to build another home for another wounded warrior.
Thank you for all the support. Lets make this happen for a wounded warrior. God knows they deserve it after all they have went through.
I need to thank some awesome people who are helping me accomplish my mission. Missouri Credit Union Association - You are the best, awesome organization with the best people, I love you guys. HFOT-making this happen for so many veterans, VAMortgageCenter-for their very generous donation, Union League Club-a group of wonderful people in NY that have jumped all over this, Hal Koster-awesome dude that has been supporting soldiers for years, My friends and family-have helped me through this most difficult time, and everyone else supporting this awesome mission-there are so many people to thank.

My Story
Thanks for visiting my fund raiser page. My name is SSG Robert Canine and I am on a mission. Im hoping to get this story out to as many people as possible so we can help build a home for another injured service member.
I sent out an email with this story and I was shocked by the response. I have received commitments from over 50 people!
Here is the story - Homes For Our Troops builds homes for severely injured service members that return from Iraq or Afghanistan. This group is going to build ME a house! I cant believe it! The homes that they build are specially adapted to the injured service members needs. The homes are for guys that are paralyzed, missing arms, legs, or a combination of both. Some guys are missing both arms and both legs. There is a huge need to get behind this cause. I got hurt in Iraq. I lost both legs, from the knee down, to an improvised explosive device. When I found out that I lost both my feet, my biggest concern was how am I going to take care of my family. So, I just wanted to go home and take care of my wife and son. Well, HFOT is going to take care of both of those for me. And that is huge for me! I cant put it in words how grateful I am to them and everyone behind the cause. I have received so much support! I have a "title sponsor", the Missouri Credit Union Association. They are donating $100,000 to the build of my house! When I got hurt they contacted me and told me to apply to HFOT. So, they made this happen for me! I am very, very, very grateful to MCUA, HFOT, and all the people that donated for me! I just cant believe what they are doing for me, and I am so grateful. I am so excited about this, I want this to be able to happen for someone else. So, I was thinking - how can I donate or raise $100,000 to make this happen for someone else? I don't have a lot of money, but I can save a certain amount a month to donate for HFOT. I am going to save $100 a month for 10 months and on 1 Oct 2010 I am going to make my contribution directly to HFOT of $1,000. Well, if I get 99 other people to do the same, or - if I get 900 people to donate $100, then I will reach my goal of $100,000. Please help me make this happen for a very deserving injured service member. I have been a little down for the past 1-2 months, but thinking about doing this has made me so excited. I want to give everyone a chance to get behind this. So - if you want to help me and match my $1,000 donation on 1 Oct 2010, or if you know someone that maybe be interested, then email and I will get you on the list. Please forward this to everyone you know! I need anywhere from 100 to 1,000 commitments. So, if you want to get involved, or you know someone that may want to get involved then send me an email and I will put you on the list. Lets make this happen for a severely injured service member! This is something that you can touch and feel! You can be involved with the build of the house. I am so excited about this, please help me make this happen. Thanks for all the help and support. This is really, really a great cause.
Thanks for all the support, Robert Canine Staff Sergeant, U.S. Army Severely injured service member while fighting in Baghdad, Iraq

Update to the story
HFOT has let me set up this page so we can donate directly to Homes For Our Troops and everyone can monitor the progress. All donations are tax deductible and you can donate right here with a credit or debit card. I have decided that I am going to donate my $1,000 right here instead of waiting till next year. I want to get our mission rolling so we can make this happen. I want to encourage everyone to do the same, so we can get to our goal of $100,000.
I really think this is an awesome thing to be a part of, and it is going to take many many people to come together to make it happen. So, if you want to get behind this, then donate right here and TOGETHER we can make this happen.
Thank you to everyone for all the help and support! This mission is going to take a bunch of awesome people to come together to make this happen. Just like the other 50 homes that HFOT has already built. It starts right here!
