First white blaze and plaque on Springer Mountain
Please donate to a great cause!
I have joined a group of hikers to "relay hike" the 2,179-mile Appalachian Trail.
Each hiker will hike a 50 to 100 mile section of the Appalachian Trail, back-to-back, in a relay format.
Our first hiker started on March 24th at Springer Mountain in northern Georgia and our last hiker will finish in early September on the summit of Mount Katahdin in Maine.
As of April 28th, we are almost 400 miles into our relay hike!
My leg is a 93-mile section in Central Virginia, from Pearisburg to Daleville. Over my 6-day hike, I will gain over 13,000 feet in elevation and lose over 14,000 feet.
We have over two dozen hikers prepared to complete 24 sections of the Appalachian Trail, with a wide range of experience, but all with the same goal of donating our blood, sweat and tears in exchange for helping to raise money and awareness for our cause and charity - Homes for our Troops.
We hope to raise $40,000 for Homes for our Heroes, and we need your help. We have already raised over $13,000 and need your help to reach our goal.
Homes for Our Troops relies on donations to build specially adapted homes for service veterans that are returning home with severe disabilities and injuries. The Veteran does not pay anything toward the cost of the home and there is no mortgage to be paid.
Please check out the main homepage for Homes for our Troops to learn more about this great cause. This charity only utilizes approximately 8% of the donations for its overhead, and maintains a top rating from various Charity Rating agencies.
Please support me and our team of hikers by making a donation by selecting the "Support Jason" button. Donations can also be made offline, if you prefer. Donations are tax deductible.
Every donation, no matter how small or big, helps!
