Kicking Up the Miles and Fundraising Efforts
The Wonderful Journey has taken off
Well, I said I would run only one Marine Corps Marathon to celebrate turning 50 in 2011 and be done...then I said "IF I was to run again, it would only be the Marine Corps", NOW, I am aiming to make the MCM a yearly tradition. This year I will be proudly wearing the team name "Homes For Our Troops". It is an organization that supports wounded returning soldiers by building them homes, free of charge to improve their quality of life.
Training has taken off with a strong start and so has the fundraising, but as I aim to increase my mileage, I'm also hoping to take my fundraising to the next level. I need your help.
Last year I ran with my Brother-in- law Staff Sargeant Craig Owen's (US Army Retired 20 years,Irag) picture on my back. When I was losing steam, I felt him there and he gave me strength. I also gained strength while running along side other runners from all branches of our Military. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE
I am also running in honor of my Father Gordon Bibby, US Navy WWII. And the newest US Marine in our family Zach Shultis, who graduated Honor Grad from Parris Island, October 5th. He just left for his next level of training. God Bless, and good luck.
This is my way of saying thank you to our dedicated men and women of our Military. I am asking if you will please assist me in fundraising any way you can. ~Thank you
